Handyman was founded in 2020 by Emanuel, a craftsman multi skilled with over 12 years of hands-on experience in everything from flooring installation to painting and assembling furniture. But the roots of Lovelofters were planted long before the company was born. Emanuel journey began at the age of 16, working part-time as a carpenter’s helper and car mechanic.

Even then, he was drawn to the art of problem-solving through skilled hands, the satisfaction of creating something lasting. This passion led him to pursue professional training in general maintenance, mastering the intricacies of electrical work, woodworking, plumbing, and much more.

However, the true test of Emanuel resolve came not from his work, but from life itself.

A Life-Altering Challenge

In 2009, Emanuel faced a challenge no training could prepare him for. His first son was born prematurely and with a severe disability. What was supposed to be the happiest moment of his life turned into a painful ordeal, as his new-borns required multiple surgeries before even reaching his first birthday. With his family’s world turned upside down, Emanuel was thrust into the role of not only father and provider but also protector and advocate. He was determined to create a home environment where his son could thrive.

Faced with the need to make his home wheelchair-accessible, Emanuel poured his heart into remodelling every aspect of their space. He installed custom rails, to the ceiling widened doorways, reconfigured rooms, and made thoughtful modifications. With every stroke of the hammer, every adjustment to the space, Emanuel wasn’t just building a house, he was building a future for his child.

It was this deeply personal experience that taught him how strategic home improvements could transform lives, giving his son the freedom and dignity he deserved.

From Pain to Purpose

Emanuel dedication did not go unnoticed. As word of his work spread, other families facing similar challenges reached out for help. Parents of disabled children sought his expertise in adapting their homes, desperate for the kind of life-changing modifications that Emanuel had mastered.
